8760...We all have it!

What is it? How can it be? What do we do with it? Yes, we all have the same 8,760 hours in the year.

I often find that I have on-going conversations with others about time usage. I talk to those who have every minute scheduled and those who fly by the seats of their pants. I know those who keep lists to manage their time. I know those who live life so on the edge that sometimes every second really does count. In business, there is often discussions about busy vs. productive. I hear from the overwhelmed, and sometimes I hear, " I don't know what to do with my time".

The formula about time is very simple, it's called choices. We choose our actions. I personally love when someone says," I don't have time." What they are saying is," this isn't important enough for me to do or I am completely overwhelmed with the choices I've made." Not that it is bad, it just isn't important to them or they haven't found a balance. We can choose to be offended, or we can realize that it is their choices they've made. Lately, I have challenged others when someone says they don't have time. It's usually because I follow up with the question of," Well, tell me what you are doing with your time." The reactions have been a mixed bag of goodness. For some, they are overwhelmed with current responsibilities, for other's they have not really thought through what their activities/actions are and have just become use to saying,"I'm too busy".

Living a fulfilled life is about making the most of every hour we are given. I go through seasons of time wasting and I go through seasons of making the most of every hour. It fact, there are times I get so excited about life I overschedule my time. When life becomes overwhelming, the first thing I do is look at time and the choices I make with it.

Today, take a moment and reflect on how you spend each hour you have. Is there good balance? Are you doing things that you want to do? Are there "should's or have to's" that can be removed? Have you had a moment to stop and reflect on how your fulfilled life looks?

We each have the same amount of time...let's do something amazing with it!

Resolutions

It's the time of year when the many of us make resolutions. It doesn't matter if the resolutions are personal or for business, we are thinking about betterment and change. What is it about the New Year that causes this type of reflection? Is it burn out or busyness? I loved this text I received on New Years Day it said, "Happy New Year! My resolution this year is to stay awesome!"

2011 for many was a difficult year. There was loss of family members, health crisis, economic crisis, and a multitude of other issues both large and small. Talking to people day in and out has shown me that everyone is being affected in some capacity.

Personally, I have had a recent period of reflection. Not resolution, just reflection. I have thought long and hard about contentment, happiness, simplicity, and the definition of what is "enough". From there, I started to think about resolutions. What keeps come to mind is that resolutions really should be reclassified to change. It is creating the desire to change things that are uncomfortable, things that don't feel right, things that don't have impact. For,me this becomes process vs a quick fix.

Along with many of my closest friends and family, this year isn't about losing weight or acquiring things. It is about showing compassion, love, humility, and joy to everyone. It is about serving without limitations and giving instead of receiving. It's about finding opportunities to pay it forward. It is not waiting for the "right" moment to serve, it is doing without a second thought. As much as I would love to share all of my ideas and plans for doing these things, I won't. For me, service doesn't need to be rewarded or even acknowledged. It's about spontaneous and doing what is right, always.

life. fulfilled. will have some new things going this year as well. My goal is to better serve each one of you though these efforts. It is not only about living the fulfilled life, but as my favorite text said, it's also about being awesome. We are all awesome! Through the stress and crisis of each day, we need to remember the contributions we make to every single person who crosses our paths throughout the day. Sometimes, it is as simple as a smile or hello.

May your New Year be full of opportunities to be spontaneous, pay it forward, and live with compassion! Sounds better than making resolutions, right?

New Year

It’s the beginning of the year and thoughts turn to renewal, starting fresh, and goal setting. It’s a good time to take stock, to check one’s bearings, to decide which path will call you this year. Of course, one of the most common goals, or resolutions, is to get in shape, or lose weight, or some other miracle physical transformation. I’m not going to burst your bubble, or give you any secrets there. Sometimes I think maybe we should just decide to be healthy, like ourselves for who we are, and try to live the life fulfilled.

Sometimes getting in shape or losing weight or living a more healthful life can be achieved through more fundamental aspects—aspects that require more valuable introspection. Do we have relationships we need to get in shape? Do we need to find a more healthy balance in what we do? Do we have excess weights in our life that we need to discard—bad habits, negative thoughts, impatience, and focuses or pursuits that take up our time but don’t necessarily fulfill? At life.fulfilled. we’re “getting in shape” too. If you’re paying attention, you’ll see much more of us and our products. This year you’ll find us at more health fairs, more local farmer’s markets, maybe even at a marathon/half-marathon or two. You’ll see new projects, and new versions of old products. Look for our snack mixes too! They’re making their world-debut this week at the Sundance Film Festival. They are delicious and really good for you. We’re looking to expand at make it easier for you to find our products. If you want to see us at your favorite grocery store or retail outlet, please ask the store manager for our products. Better yet, send us an email to life.fulfilled.llc@gmail.com, and we’ll send you a letter that you can use to let your grocer know you want to carry our products.

We’re looking forward to “getting in shape” this year, and, above all, enjoying the journey before us. May the new year bring you renewed fulfillment as well.

TheYear In Review

Ah, what a year… As the pages of 2010 draw to a close, it seems appropriate to reminisce just a bit on the good times and the struggles. On the lessons learned, the people met, the goals attained, the dreams realized and, most importantly, the lives fulfilled. This has been a season of growth and progress for life.fulfilled.
Earlier this year we described the “life fulfilled” as an ongoing, living, breathing process, and a goal in and of itself—opportunity and responsibility to live each day completely. We shared ideas on how to get there, from letting your inner kid come out, putting challenges in perspective, and finding and stoking your own light, to escaping momentarily from the noise and embracing the quiet solitude that nourishes self-analysis. We shared our experiences and our challenges. And now we say thank you.
Thank you for your support, for your participation, for your ideas, and for your belief in a concept. A concept that has taken us near and far, high and low, as we seek to get the word out about life.fulfilled., and, of course, our line of premium cookie mixes and snacks. In April of this year, we put the first label on the first bag of life.cookies. premium cookie mix. From that first bag of Emma’s Dark Chocolate and Bing Cherry mix has grown three additional varieties, and an entire gluten-free line.
We decided up front that part of finding the fulfilled life was giving back to the community, and have tried to make that a part of life.fulfilled. from the very beginning. In June of this year we had the unique opportunity to be a sponsor of the first annual Wasatch Wheelchair Rally. If you attended, then you may have sampled some of our delicious cookies, or enjoyed a complimentary bottle of life.fulfilled. water; hopefully you also experienced the sense of community that participation in such an event provides. In November, we were excited that Discovery Gateway Children's Museum invited us to teach in their Discovery Workshop about good food choices. To be able to introduce our great products, to great children was a very fulfilling memory for us. We had other community participation opportunities throughout the year, including participation in and prize-sponsorship at local school fundraisers, and starting a charitable donation program on our website, www.lifefulfilledonline.com, where you can designate a community partner to receive a portion of the proceeds from your life.fulfilled. online purchases.
The summer found us at markets throughout the area, including our personal favorite, the Moab Farmer’s Market. While protecting the chocolate from the heat had its own challenges, such challenges were far outweighed by the wonderful friends we made along the way. The fall’s highlight was participation at the Utah State Fair. Our cookies were available at the Utah’s Own Store at the fair, and we spent significant time at the Utah’s Own tent meeting many of you, and giving out samples of our cookies. Yum! The fall has also seen the birth of life.snax. snack mixes, including a few varieties unique to life.fulfilled. hat you’ll find soon online and in select retailers.
Through it all, we’ve met some wonderful people, overcome challenges, and planted the seeds for future growth. So what does 2011 have in store? We’re looking forward to more community involvement, to making new friends far and near, and increasing the visibility of life.fulfilled., its projects and its philosophy. As always, we encourage your feedback and your ideas as we grow, and we look forward to another fulfilling year.

It’s Christmas Time!

Christmas is not marked by the decorations showing up in stores in September, or the Christmas music on the radio sneaking in before Thanksgiving. It’s not even marked by the snow on the grass, or the lights playfully twinkling in the cold night air. To me, Christmas is marked by the feelings of gratitude, and love, the building excitement in the kids, and the growing anticipation of wonderful memories waiting to be made. In the hustle and bustle of the season, I like to sit in the quiet of the living room, alone, looking at the Christmas tree. It’s covered with memories and traditions, successes and challenges, and I count each and every blessing. I don’t know why that happens more at this time of year than others, but regardless, it fulfills and satisfies.

At Life Fulfilled we’re excited about celebrating the season with friends and family. This has been a wonderful year of growth and challenges overcome. We’re looking forward to the new year and the new people we will meet. We have some exciting plans, and we look forward to increasing our community involvement. We’ve got some exciting products awaiting their debut and even some tweaks to our standbys—thanks to your valuable feedback.

May you enjoy this season of giving, and giving thanks. Take the time to contemplate the life fulfilled—even better over a warm chocolate chip cookie straight from the oven. From all of us at Life Fulfilled, Merry Christmas!

Today we give thanks.....

The snow is crunchy, the air is crisp. It's one of the coldest Thanksgiving Day's on record, but fires, and hearts, are warm. Traditions vary as we celebrate in our own way; but with family, friends, soon-to-be-friends and strangers, we gather together to remember our blessings.

At Life Fulfilled, we are thankful for a year of growth and challenges. a year filled with starts and stops, highs and lows. We are grateful that the successes vastly outweigh the failures. We are grateful for the many people we have met this year-at markets, fairs, on-line, and in the street, e are grateful for the support of our Life Fulfilled Family-friends,family, customers, suppliers, and acquaintances. We celebrate this all.

On this day of giving thanks, may you find fulfillment in gratitude, and reflection, on blessings large or small.

Happy Thanksgiving!
